PGA Championship Preview đ
By LoopGolf Club
The Sweat brought to you by the LoopGolf Club is our newsletter highlighting the top news in pro golf, tournament previews and betting picks at each tourâs signature events. Letâs dive in đ
Jimmy Dunne is officially out as a member of the PGA TOUR policy board as dysfunction within the TOUR continues to run rampant.
Dunne, the architect behind the PGA TOUR <> PIF deal has effectively been elbowed out of continued conversations given the fact that the players now outnumber the Independent Directors on the Board. In his resignation letter, he indicated there had been, âno meaningful progressâ and that his role and his vote had become âutterly superfluousâ.
With the sportâs top superstars more divided than ever and itâs league unifier officially out, this all begs the question - what the hell is going to happen with professional golf and where do we go from here?
ITâS MAJOR WEEK!!
As to be expected, there are some epic storylines swirling as the best players convene in Louisville, Kentucky for the PGA Championship.
Scottie Scheffler, aka âIâm your daddyâ, is once again the betting favorite at (+425) followed by âsingle and ready to mingleâ Mcllroy at (+700) and lastly, Mr. âI only show up for majorsâ Brooks Koepka at (+1400).
With a recent win in Singapore, Brooks Koepka comes into Valhalla with his game in great form as he looks to go back to back at the PGA Championship and win his sixth major đ.
Given the above, the road to the winnerâs circle on Sunday requires beating the world #1 and #2 in their peak form. Scotty is having a career year with a 40% win rate đł. 10 events played, 9 top-10s, 10 top-25s, 4 wins, and heâs won the last two events he played in, The Masters and RBC Heritage. While Rory isnât having a career year, the kid is fresh off a win last weekend against a tough field at Quail Hallow shooting a 65 on Sunday to win by five.
Details of The PGA Championship:
â° : Tee times begin at 7:15am EDT tomorrow (Thursday)
đ: Valhalla Golf Course (Louisville, KT)
đ : LIV & PGA Tour players both competing
đ°: $20,000,000
We love Tiger as much as anyone but we donât let that get in the way of a good money making opportunity. With a bad back, and a sperm count of zero, his glory days are over. Fade the đ.
This is purely a âride the hot handâ bet as Rory looks to be in great form and has a history of success at Valhalla Golf Club. Bet the under.
Though weâve officially lost hope that Xander can win big tournaments, weâre still bullish on him to hit a lot of fairways. Bet the over.
