Given the recent shakeup in professional golf (Jon Rahm defecting to LIV Golf), we are planning to expand our coverage to include the PGA Tour, The Majors and LIV Golf events this season.

With that in mind, we are shifting away from a weekly cadence of PGA Tour coverage to bi-monthly in order to bring you the very best coverage and insights into the top sweats across all of professional golf.

We’ll also be sending out The Sweat on Wednesday evenings instead of Sunday mornings so you can get your picks in before the tournament kicks off! Here is our sweat schedule for the 2024 season:

  • The Sentry (Jan 4-7)

  • Farmers Insurance Open (Jan 24-27)

The first signature event of the PGA TOUR 2024 season kicks off tomorrow on the island of Maui at the Kapalua Plantations Course. To qualify for this limited field event, players must have either won a tournament last year or be inside the top 50 of the FedEx Cup standings from the prior season.

With a no cut, $20 million prize purse and 38 of the top 50 players in the OWGR showing up, this event is shaping up to be a good one to kick off the year. Check out our favorite picks heading into tomorrows first round below.

Strokes: Collin Morikawa was a back 9, final day meltdown away from winning this event in 2023. We like him to pick up where he left off and shoot under 68.5 tomorrow.

Birdies or Better: Ludvig Aberg aka “the next Tiger Woods” averaged 4.76 birdies per round and drove the ball an average of 317 yards in 2023. At a course known to be a bombers paradise, look for this kid to start the year hot.

Greens In Regulation: Scottie Scheffler was the first player to lead the PGA Tour in Greens in Regulation in back to back years since 2009. He hits the green at a 74.4% clip. At a course that has been known to see low scores, we think Scheffler will be firing at pins all day.

Product Updates: In version 3.0, we’ve added estimated & projected scores powered by Loop AI to elevate your live betting experience. The goal here is to provide you with more data that can be used to properly set your lines. Download the updates here.

How it works: If a player has an active USGA handicap ID linked, we’ll be able to estimate their round score using the slope & rating of the course and tee boxes the player is playing, which will be presented when a player tees off. Projected score will then update throughout the round using a players actual hole-by-hole scores and their estimated hole-by-hole scores based again on their course handicap, slope and rating.

Upcoming Events: Our Bay Area Match Play Series will host some of the top players at the top local courses in 2024. Our first event of the year will be hosted at Coyote Creek on January 28th. More details will be announced over the next few days so you can reserve your spot. Please reply now if you’re interested in being added to our Bay Area Players club email list.
