The Sunday Sweat
The American Express
Every Sunday morning, we write a brief newsletter for 1,510 members highlighting the action taking place both on & off the golf course. Welcome to all of our new members who have joined us since last Sunday. Letβs dig in π
Golf is just simply more fun when you have some skin in the game. So in that spirit, we're kicking off a series of free-to-play pools for our readers this season. You'll have the opportunity to compete risk free each quarter for $500 (or more) in prize money which will be deposited directly to your LoopGolf wallet. If you're interested in participating in this quarters pool, please sign up here
See more details below.
β³οΈ Tournament: The American Express
π Location: La Quinta, California
π° Purse: $8,000,000
π₯ Round 3: Highlights (YouTube)
πΊ TV Coverage: 3-7pm ET (Golf Channel)
π Final Group: Tee off at 1:45pm ET
Jon Rahm, the fiery Spaniard is on an absolute heater thus far in 2023. Two weeks ago in Hawaii, he overcame a seven-shot deficit during Sundays final round to win the Sentry Tournament of Champions. After firing back to back 64s, he's currently leading the American Express and is now 50-under-par in his first 7 rounds this season.
Wild Stat: Ever wonder how you would stack up against the top players in the world? If you put Rahm's 20 most recent rounds into the world handicapping system, the 28-year-old would be playing off a handicap index of +13 π
Our betting strategies are a healthy balance of art & science mixed with a strong bias for final round dark horses. There is no right or wrong way to assess your picks for a given week, sometimes it's more exciting to take a long shot for the drama, other times it feels like the favorite is the best bet. What's most important is you do you and have fun!
π Tommy Tickets picks Dylan Wu
β‘οΈ Rummy Roll picks Sam Burns
π° Money Keegs picks Tom Kim
Tommy Tickets cashed a ticket last week taking home $800 when Si Woo Kim came from behind to win the Sony Open in Hawaii. Season Standings: Tommy Tickets ($900), Money Keegs ($280), Rummy Roll ($0)
How to Play: Each week, pick one golfer per tournament and you'll receive one point for each dollar they earned that weekend. If your golfer misses the cut, you won't earn any points for that week.
One & Done: This is considered a one & done pool so you can only pick a golfer once per quarter. Meaning if you pick Tony Finau for the Waste Management, you can't pick him again for the Genesis Invitational.
How to Win: Whoever accumulates the most points from the Farmers Insurance Open through the conclusion of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, wins the Q1 office pool.
Multipliers: To make the pot even sweeter, we will allow you to unlock multipliers by simply referring your friends to The Sunday Sweat. Meaning if you win the pool this quarter and have 10 referrals, you would win $1,000 instead of $500. You can refer your friends at any point throughout the quarter but get a head start now by sharing your unique referral link below.
5 referrals in Q1 is a 1.5x multiplier - winner receives $750
10 referrals in Q1 is a 2x multiplier - winner receives $1,000
20 referrals in Q1 is a 4x multiplier - winner receives $2,000
Lineup: All picks must be locked on the website and we will not be accepting late picks. Please make sure you get an email confirmation that the website has locked your pick for the week. Picks are locked when the first group tees off for the week.
