The Sunday Sweat
TOUR Championship
Every Sunday, the LoopGolf team writes a newsletter for our community highlighting all the action around golf, betting and culture.
⚡️Live Bets Preview: We're working on a new feature that we're launching next month that opens up an entirely new category for us — live betting against your friends at home.
🚨 With this new feature, your friends on Loop will be notified that you’ve started playing a round on Loop but they will now have the option to click in and propose bets back to you so they can join in on the fun.
💸 This can turn your average single player round into an action packed experience primed to spark the chirping in your group chats!
Our good friend Jared Doerfler, writes a weekly newsletter called the Perfect Putt breaking down the business in golf. Last week he wrote a super interesting piece around how the FedExCup bonus payouts work in professional golf and we wanted to share a quick breakdown for ya’ll. Click here for the full read which is definitely worth 5 minutes of your time.
⛳️ Tournament: TOUR Championship

Well folks, the final day of the 2022-2023 PGA TOUR season kicks off tomorrow morning at East Lake in Atlanta, GA, and everyone is chasing down the happy go lucky Norwegian Cowboy (he attended Oklahoma St.), Viktor Hovland for the $18 million first place prize.
The Narrative: Say what you will about the wild outfits Hovland donned this season (see photo 👆), Hovland had himself an incredible 2022-2023 season. He is fresh off of one of the most impressive back-9 performances in FedExCup playoff and golf history shooting a course record 61 to win the BMW Championship last weekend for a come from behind dub. Here are some quick stats on Hovlands 2022-2023 campaign, 22 events played, 2 wins, one runner-up, eight top-10s, 17 top-25s, and all 22 cuts made. The only thing Hovland is chasing now, his first FedExCup title, and next year, his first major championship.
With a six shot lead heading into the final round, Hovy has the champagne on ice. But as Rory made clear last year after chasing down Scottie Scheffler, it’s not over til it’s over.
If Viktor Hovland can hold on to his 6-stroke lead tomorrow, he will have made $21.6 million in the last two weeks. It’s safe to say he has been hot late this season and is capitalizing on his incredible ball striking.
What a save from the fairway bunker by Viktor Hovland 👏
He leads by 3 @TOURChamp.

Xander Schauffele has proven to be one of the best players EVER at East Lake. His 2-under round Saturday extended his streak of rounds at East Lake that are par or better to 27 straight. He has never finished outside of the top-10 at the TOUR Championship and sits 6 shots back of the lead in solo second heading into Sunday.
🐦 @XSchauffele moves to solo second with a birdie on No. 7 @TOURChamp.

After coming out FIRING on the first two days of the tournament, Collin Morikawa struggled on Saturday. He shot 3-over and just didn’t seem like he could get anything going. He sits 7-back of the lead and needs a HUGE round Sunday to give himself a chance. He shot a 9-under round 1 on Thursday, don’t count him out!

Outright Winner: Viktor Hovland @ -800 ($800 to win $100)
Why? As you probably know by now, we’re not ones to pick favorites, but this Sunday, with how hot Hovland is and a six shot lead to work with, we gotta bet on the Norwegian Cowboy to get the job done and ride off into the sunset. This one is EASY MONEY™️.
